The fine Parrot Paintings of World Class Bird Artist

-Exquisite texture and warmth of feather are carefully portrayed in the watercolor paintings by U.K.
wildlife artist Eric Peake. Studying mostly from private breeding collections, he is able to accumulate the
essential research to ensure the paintings are technically correct. It is from this close observation he is able
to study the behaviour patterns and bonding of the species he paints. Although an avian artist most of his
life, his work is now dedicated to the parrot species. He considers himself both a devoted aviculturist as well
as conservationist realising preservation especially of the endangered species relies on both working
harmoniously together. Devoted to the birds he loves, he is an active worldwide fundraiser for conservation
and research often lecturing on his belief. Donations of his original paintings and limited edition prints have
raised over $200,000. U.S. to date with his most recent original painting, 'Spix's Macaw and Young' selling
for $23,500. U.S. at the III International Loro Parque Parrot Convention, Tenerife, Spain. All proceeds were
donated by the artist to the Loro Parque Foundation for conservation and research. His work has supported
many other organisations such as R.S.P.B., I.A.S., A.F.A., Belgian Parrot Society, WWF., S.P.B.E., M.A.R.E., World Parrot Trust,
International Societies for Budgerigars, Lovebirds, Lories and Amazon Parrots, Parrot Society, North of
England Zoological Society, British Bird Council, Scarlet Macaw Project, Guatemala, Liverpool University
and University of Georgia, Avian Research.
-Eric's popularity and reputation as an artist, author and lecturer reflect his outstanding artistie talent
and dedication to the birds he paints and loves. So much so he was commissioned in 1989 by the North of
England Zoological Society to paint a pair of Princess of Wales parrots for H.R.H. Princess of Wales,
Princess Diana. His work has been further recognised through special feature exhibitions at the
Southeastern Wildlife Exposition. S.C., U.S.A. in 1991 and 1995 specialising in his parrot paintings and a 2
year U.K. Natural History Museum tour on parrots.
-Currently working on a series of monographs of parrots, Eric devotes much time and attention to
studying his subjects. Released in 1994, 'A Monograph of Macaws and Conures' contained plates from 40
original paintings. He is presently working on the paintings for the next volume, 'A Monograph of Amazons'.
Collectively the paintings represent some of the finest parrot paintings ever produced.
-Although his work demands worldwide travel, the majority of his painting is done in his home country of
North Wales. Working predominately in watercolor he has the rare ability to capture in fine detail the mood
and stance of the living bird. His work hangs in corporatie, publie and private collections worldwide. Eric
continues to lecture and exhibit with the message ever present that extinction is forever.
